Finding your Player ID
A Player ID is a number that identifies you at official events. It is free, it takes about five minutes to set up, and you only do it once.
You do not need one to visit
Come to league without one. You can play, learn, borrow a deck and meet people with no Player ID at all.
You will need one to register for a tournament through this site, and to collect prize points. Most people sort it out after a visit or two.
If you might already have one
Anyone who has played in an official event before has a Player ID, even from years ago. Sign in to your account on the official site and it will be shown in your profile. It does not change and it is worth finding rather than creating a second one.
Creating one

Go to Pokémon Trainer Central
This is where accounts live, and it moved recently, so it is worth knowing exactly where to click. On the official site, look along the very top of the page for Visit Pokémon Trainer Central.
Look along the very top of the page, above the main menu. Open the official Pokémon site, then sign in or create a free account. There is no cost and no purchase is involved.

Find the number in your profile
Once the account exists, your Player ID appears in your account details. It is a number, usually seven digits. Write it down or photograph it.

Bring it with you
Give it to a professor at the desk, or type it in when you register for an event on this site.
Setting one up for a child
A parent or guardian creates the account and adds the child to it. The child gets their own Player ID, and the account stays under the parent's control.
This is the normal way it is done for younger players, and it is worth a few minutes of setup — the same ID follows them for as long as they play.
If you get stuck
Ask any professor at league. We set these up regularly and are happy to walk through it with you, or with a parent, on a Sunday afternoon.
If you need to cancel a registration and cannot do it yourself, a professor can take care of that too.
